Advocacy, Consultation, & School Observations

Office-Based Consultation Services: The CCNS Neuropsychologist is available to consult with you and your child to discuss a range of concerns. Some possible reasons for an initial consult include:

  • Do you have concerns regarding your child, but aren’t sure where to start in getting services or an evaluation?
  • Is your child already receiving services, but has hit a “plateau” and you are seeking outside guidance to assist your treatment team?
  • Would you like to learn what you can be doing to better assist your child’s development?
  • Has someone recommended additional testing and you are not sure what type of evaluation they are suggesting?
  • Has your child received testing through the school or elsewhere and you need help with fully understanding it? Are you wondering whether additional testing is required?
  • Has your child received a diagnosis that you do not fully understand?
  • Would you like someone to review educational documentation and provide additional recommendations?

Additional Consultation Services:  The CCNS Neuropsychologist often consults with counselors, pediatricians, psychiatrists, neurologists, and other providers in an effort to best understand and support your child.

School observations are often helpful when trying to understand a child’s strengths and needs and to assist in individualized program development. School observations are sometimes conducted in isolation while at other times they are conducted alongside the neuropsychological evaluation.
